With the theme“Shaping the Future of Microscopy in Aotearoa New Zealand”, the conference will focus on three major areas during the scientific sessions:

  • Life Sciences and Bio-innovation

  • AI-Driven Image Analysis and Data Science

  • Materials Characterisation and Homegrown Technology

The conference will also feature a special panel discussion with national and international speakers, designed to encourage discussion on the future of microscopy and microanalysis in New Zealand.

On Friday, 27 November, several workshops will be held, providing opportunities for everyone to get involved in topics ranging from facility management and image analysis to specialised techniques and emerging technologies.

About the Venue

Rutherford house, Victoria University

Rutherford House is home to the Wellington School of Business and Government, Wellington UniProfessional, and The Atom.

Situated at the northern end of the Wellington CBD, adjacent to the railway station and bus terminus, providing high accessibility.

A major project (completed around 2018) by Athfield Architects expanded the original square-plan building, adding a new six-story annex, a library, and a pedestrian-friendly, glazed atrium.

It serves as a central hub for the Wellington School of Business and Government, providing lecture theatres, seminar rooms, a café, and social learning spaces.
